Many of us came into an environment that never resonated with who we really are or what we are about, so we just muddle through life looking, hoping, that one day we will be at home in our family, our community, our world, or even in our own skin. We look for that feeling of familiarity and wholeness, yearning for a sense of true kindred.
For me, that is my Horses. With my family I am ‘the odd one’, ‘the problem’, because I clearly don’t fit into their beliefs, their expectations, and assumptions about how life is to be lived. How I am to behave and what I am to believe and what I am allowed to love. Mainly, they never understood nor approved of my love for animals but instead they felt I should hold steadfast to a life that did not fit me but supported those that have little understanding of me.
This was a problem for all of us much of my life, so I wandered away, keeping politely in touch occasionally. But the deeper I experienced my relationship with my Horses, the more familiarity I felt. The more acceptance I felt. I noticed that I did not have to appear wearing a mask on my face to hide my real identity and armor around my heart to thwart the arrows of disapproval whenever I was with them.
When we are together, we flow. We are free to be ourselves, we are allowed to be vulnerable, we can safely be in silence, with no questions or explanations necessary. Here, I am emotionally, and mentally safe. With them I know I will not be judged.
One day I realized that we share Spiritual Blood. We relate in a way that is beyond words, yet our souls clearly communicate. We intangibly understand our needs; and desires and forgiveness and rebirth are welcomed without conditions.
Spiritual Blood is stronger than familial blood. When we find our tribe or our family through spiritual connection, we have truly found where we belong. Spiritual Blood will always see your intentions, it will always read your heart, your fears, your tears, your faith, your honesty, and your dreams. Spiritual Blood supports your individuality and has faith in the risks you take even when you are not sure of your own pathway.
For me, finding my Spiritual Blood kinship has brought balance and stability to my life. I find that other Horse People dedicated to the soul of the Horse also share this Spiritual Blood. They carry these same attributes and the same soulful acceptance that my Horses have. Before I was always hiding a huge part of me, but finding my Soul family has allowed me to show up in honest authenticity.

The Invitation
Take notice of how your Horses relate to you. Do they ask you to walk together as Soul family? If you feel overly challenged by them in your daily interactions, or detached from them, step back, listen with your heart and your blood. Let the language of Spiritual Blood speak between you. Answer the questions, make the pledge that is being asked to be fulfilled. And then feel the change within your relationship.
