Sometimes we forget, just being able to have a Horse is a piece of magick that is found nowhere else. That is when we see them with flat vision, but when we see them with dimensional vision it is a journey into the Mystic itself.
I love my dogs, but for me their relationship is about friendship and companionship. My horses and I have a completely different purpose together. Yes, I do like to ride, but it is second to our soulful relationship. Riding pales in comparison to what they awaken within me just being in their presence.
Just being in their presence invokes within me an awareness of a holy presence that takes me into the realm of the Mystic, the desire to obtain unity with the Divine. The divine within them, the divine within me and the presence of an omnipotent Divine. Horse people that desire deep connection with their horses often find this connection through something sacred within themselves.
We can study connection and unity until forever, but in the end, it is in internal quest to know ourselves deeply that will unite us with the truth within our horse. We can only know our horse as deeply as we know ourselves. For this is a prominent role that horses fulfill in our journey together.
This may appear in many formats. The horse may quietly seduce you away from your mental assessment of everything around you or it may behave in ways that rattle you from your habitual routines with them; perhaps they will challenge all that you assume about yourself and the horse.
Or they may be so elusive or damaged that you have no choice but to leave all that you know behind and enter a place of vulnerability that leaves you raw and naked with no questions or answers; just a form of spirit that waits for its assignment from a greater divine.
Though this feels like it is the end, for we have exhausted everything we know to reach a place of unity with this horse, it is truly a new beginning. One that has entered the realm of the Mystic. Now you can begin to connect with the horse from a place of holy intelligence, with information that is not found in study or observation. But within the chambers of a divine presence that holds the key to unity.
Horses invoke and challenge our fears, our dreams, our assumptions, our habits, our insecurities and our egos. And if we are pure in our intentions to do right by them and by our own desires, they will bring out our inner divine that can surpass all of our doubts and shortcomings. Leaving us with the purity of a path to unimagined unity.

The Invitation
When you next spend time with your horse, pause. Breathe. Let go of your agenda and the thoughts you brought with you. For just a few minutes. Just become innocence in the company of your horse. Let the mystical energy of your horse flood your soul and your senses. Allow them to take you on a mystical journey, even if it’s only for a few minutes, just be silently with them until you feel yourself in that holy place. Anchor this feeling within your very being, and take with you as you continue with your horse.
