Dancers of Surrender

Horses survive because of their ability to surrender. Those that have more resistance have more struggles and challenges, some will not survive life at all. Those that are unable or unwilling to surrender will be perceived as dangerous and will most likely be killed. What a metaphor for Humans. I am definitely guilty of resisting, my whole life I have viewed surrender as losing, being dominated, or giving up. If I were a Horse, its likely I would have been killed long ago

But Horses have had to find ways to survive and therefore have learned to dance with surrender. These are some quotes from Readings that Horses have shared about their perspective on Surrender.

‘When you align with acceptance, you become the dance of surrender, this is not the same as losing. Surrender becomes its own interpretation of individuality and power. It becomes a life of its own. And it is immune to outside influence. This is a safe place to be.’ Marley, Hanoverian

This is valuable insight. He believes that aligning with the acceptance of surrender creates safety. This gives the perspective that viewing surrender as a dance gives you more options for the situation. Dance is movement and has a lead/follow aspect, if we can view surrender as such, we can find flow and options for the situation that has required that we surrender and watch as it creates a life of its own.

‘Humans don’t want to surrender, they want the Horse to surrender, when Humans learn to surrender their expectations and their superiority Horses and Humans will find themselves on common ground and change and partnership can be formed.’ Martina, Mustang Mare

This observation shines the light on Humans desire to be omnipotent over Horses, intentional or not. Yes, we must stay as safe as possible, but this statement has merit for questioning how we achieve this. True partnership will invite safety for us, trying to force things from a 1,000-pound animal is an invitation for injury.

One Horse referred to surrender as ‘the surrender’, this too places a different view on surrendering. When we approach the situation that calls for us to surrender and experience it as ‘the surrender’ it gives the summons to become a process, to become the dance of surrender itself. It’s not something we must do; it is something we become.

Even a puppy had something to say about surrender.

This keeps you moving forward into the Unknown, and as you travel through this Unknown you surrender your past, then you will know yourself.’ Ember, Newfoundland puppy

Sometimes surrender is freedom, surrender is transformation. Surrender is wisdom. As Human we often leave surrender as the last option, animals teach us to see it as the solution. Or Soulution. And that it can be a beautiful dance.

Our animals come to us for a reason, there is a Divine Labyrinth that weaves and intertwines our journey with them.

If you would like to know more about why your animal is with you, a Reading can reveal discernment, awareness, understanding, and insight into your relationship.
